The headrail dimensions are: Headrail only 1-5/8" deep, Headrail with bracket 1-7/8" deep, and Headrail Height is 1-1/8".

The minimum mounting depth required is 1-1/8".

If you received an incorrect size shade, please remove it from the box, take a picture of the measurement of the actual headrail with a metal tape measure, and provide it to the seller for review.

If you're having trouble getting the headrail to snap into the bracket, please make sure the brackets are evenly aligned and leveled, and that the brackets are not set too far back into the window so that you have enough room to seat the headrail into the bracket and can make it "snap" into place. For inside mount, you only use one screw in the big oval hole on top of the bracket, not the two holes that are set back on top of the bracket.

Regarding how to order, it is important to order the shade width 1/4" - 3/8" smaller than the actual window width for inside mount shades. For outside mount, you can just order the size that covers the area you want to cover. Please refer to the how to measure and how to order illustrations.
